As of yesterday afternoon, after meeting with the Family Life Pastor, I officially joined the student ministry adult leadership team at Firewheel Bible Fellowship. — Okay, well, not officially, I have to turn in my application/bkgnd check and commitment letter. I guess if they don’t like what i put on my application I’ll be nixed from the team.  At which point, i would promptly unleash hell on their rears –

The group has been through a lot of transistion over the last year and is just now starting to get some solid structure in place. While i won’t be as hands on as I have been in the past, I hope and pray that i’ll be able to help draw on my experience during the times that I am there.

This will be the first time that I will work in ministry without my wonderful wife at my side. She’s always good support and it will be different not having her there. I definitely have to watch my time and commitments much more closely this time. In the past, going to an event or meeting was no big deal, because she was there with me, but now it will actually cut into our family time.

Anyway, good luck to me… or maybe, good luck to the rest of the team for having to put up with me… Thankfully, despite my imperfections and inconsistencies, God is faithful to work through those willing to be used. And I’m sure I will grow in the process.

p.s. - Mark says I cuss too much to be in leadership. Perhaps he is correct. He is not often correct, but I’ll work on that.
