Freedom from the Tyranny of the Urgent

Jeremy:  this is a bit insane…

Blake:  yeah. life is insane

Jeremy: the online / quest program at DCC (my school) was overhauled for this semester, so they find bugs everynow and then, and there is actually a book list for my class i started last night… i didn’t know until i got to class. Some people got the list and some didn’t… anyway, so this morning…

dionna gets an email from half.com (ebay’s baby) just as an advertisment so she asks me the names of the books and i tell her the one that i wont be able to pick up in stores (the other is fairly common)…

so, she finds it at half.com from a user in the dallas area so the shipping is quicker, and buys it…

Blake: i’ve bought from half beforeFFTOU

Jeremy: then i get a call from an admissions girl at DCC, and she says “you just bought my book. I recognized your name from when you registered.” so now i can pick it up today and not be too behind on my reading… and not pay shipping… crazy.

Blake: yup. crazy
would make a good blog entry

Jeremy: okay. can i just copy and paste our convo? or do i have to go into more detail?

Blake: nah, that was detailed enough
but really cool
funny that you were looking nation wide, and it was someone you’d handed $$ to already
