Christmas Text-fessional for 2007
Sunday the High Schooler’s met at 11 AM with the Jr. Higher’s. Andy LaChance leads the JH worship, but he asked me to play along on electric. I haven’t played electric with the band in several months. ‘Twas fun. Here is the rundown.
Blessed Be Your Name - G - I’ve never sang [...]

I stopped paying attention to Jars of Clay after the release of their “lullaby” albums … a name i affectionately gave Much Afraid and If I Left the Zoo. Then Good Monsters came along and I really dig the sound… I’m not sure yet how I feel about everything in between because I’ve rarely listened [...]

Thanks to Rick, I’m 1/3 of the way through Divine Nobodies by Jim Palmer. It’s raising questions in my heart and challenging me spirtitually… Not in a “get up and go face the world” kind of way, but in a “sit down, rest, and soak God in” kinda way. I don’t quite find myself exactly [...]

Here is what all this comes down to for me.
I want to enable missionaries who long to evangelize the least reached.
I want to enable those who’s hearts break for the homeless.
I want to enable musicians who want to ply their craft as instruments of hope.
I want to enable parents who long [...]

So the Golden Compass is bombing thus far (see this weekend’s chart). The movie cost upwards of 600mil to make. Although its third this week, only 8 Mil after around 26 in the opening weekend is a really bad sign for the movie. Good movies don’t lose that much steam no matter what other box-office hits [...]

I want to make this very clear before moving on… I’m not so blind or arrogant to think that is anything that is done within my own power. It is completely the power of God that enables, even if I may be one of the many vessels that He chooses to use to initiate [...]

Blake has a great idea for shifting from commercialism to commission this Christmas and beyond. I encourage you to read all you can about this 20$ bottle of water. Check all the various links on Blake’s post concerning Charity:Water, they’re informational and inspiring.

Here’s what I know: I read 73 blogs, all in a reader service. This means I don’t pay attention to your site design unless i want to comment on your site. So, if you still come to this blog the old way (i.e. - without a reader), then you can probably ignore the rest of [...]

As of yesterday at about 9:15 PM, school for this semester is over. I flew through my final oral presentation… I’m not sure I breathed in the 7 minutes I was doing my thing… I guess it’s a bit of a nervous habit, but I don’t generally *feel* nervous… It usually happens when I feel [...]

I am not a grinch… i’m just not a fan of most Christmas songs. 1) they’re dumb. 2) seriously, they’re really dumb… little drummer boy? what the hell is that?
If they were so great, wouldn’t we hear them year round? Great music is great music, it doesn’t matter when you hear it. Case in point, I [...]
