Stop Badware!

I really don’t know what that means, but I know that if you go directly to my site through Firefox or Google Chrome, you’ll get a message saying that jaybrams.com is a malicious site. So i’m reading through how to correct the misunderstanding and parsed a bunch of links that I don’t really need. To avoid it, use Internet Explorer or change your security settings to ignore the suspicious sites warning (I did this, but I don’t recommend it).

I understand why they are  trying to protect the masses against unknowingly downloading something to their computer, but some of the reasons they flag are pretty lame… like hidden links, even if the link doesn’t necessarily download anything… I have no idea why mine is listed as malicious, but I’ve done what I can and requested a rescan of my site.

Thankfully it doesn’t affect anyone using a reader, so most of you who have embraced web 2.0 are uneffected.

So you finally got that “bad” stuff off of your site, huh? Now I can feel safe in my home if my computer visits Jaybrams.com.

What exactly was it and how did it get here?

  2. Jaybrams says:

Well, there was a hidden link at the end of one of my posts that linked to a legit malicious site…

How did it get there? I have no idea… Fixing it was weird because it actually didn’t even show up in my wordpress code.
