She Has A Way With Words

My daughter writes the best essays for school… here’s the latest about her favorite season… (everything is [sic]… it’s hard to capture all the things that come across on a written essay, but i’ll try with formatting and smilies) The fourth paragraph is genius.

Scream… It’s SUMMER!!!!!
Every time summer comes around I secretly jump for joy in my room. In fact, summer is my fav. season! [...]

If you’re Buzzing, Tweeting, of FBing with me then you know today I posted about 35 pics and a video of our family fun during the biggest snow fall in Dallas / Ft Worth History (near 12 inches). But for those who aren’t social networkers (*ahem* all of dionna’s family pretty much *ahem*), you can see the pics here and watch the video below…

Same Ol' Song and Dance...

… or is it?
eFriends Blake and Rick recently did a mind dump/resolution list for 2010.  I guess i’ll kick off my blog again in the same manner…
I’ve become a goal/vision oriented guy; I like spontaneity, and I hate scheduling certain aspects of my life, but I’ve realized that purpose drives action.  I am constantly re-evaluating where I am and where I am going. I hope (and [...]

New Beginnings

Yesterday marked the 5th “First” in our family… First Day of School that is. For our eldest, it was much of the same; after all, she’s going into 4th grade, and 4th graders are just a notch below Royalty in an Elementary School that kicks kids out after 5th grade. After a week long build-up of phone calls to friends comparing teachers and one fitful [...]

I’ve been fairly quiet this summer, but it was actually a pretty eventful season for me this year.  No major vacations or trips for me, but..
* sent my two eldest off to California for 10 days,
* lots of changes at church, many of which have direct implications on my family and the ministries that we’re involved in (more to come eventually),
* and of course, an [...]

Here’s some pics from the last month or so, including her first feeding of “real food” and lots of laughs and smiles.

Today starts day five of no Dr. Pepper. Monday (day 2) was actually pretty easy, though I did treat myself to a Red Bull in prep for my Philosophy [...]

Sunday was the first day of the transformation I am in the process of going through. My first goal is to completely kill Dr. Pepper from my life.
So far… so good.
My morning Dr. Pepper was replaced with CranRaspberry Juice, which is by far my favorite juice morning or otherwise. In fact, when i was younger i used to dip my popcorn in it from [...]

Sorry for the delay… These are just the ones from our camera, more from my phone and my sister’s camera coming eventually.
(if you want to see them in a non-slide show format, click the bottom corner of the slide show and then click on the name of the album (“Baby Evelynn”))

Heard recently around the dinner table…
Four Year Old (4YO): What did you have for lunch today daddy?
Me: Lucky’s where I get it for free!
4YO: Why you get it free?
Me: Because i’m so AWESOME!
4YO: (giggles) but daddy… You’re FAT!
… (silence with exception of her maniacal laughter) …
Me: (dejected) So… you can’t be fat and awesome?
4YO: (with conviction) NO!
… (more laughter) …
