… i’ve been asking myself lately. If you have read this far, you must answer at least one… or else… :

* Why was I cheering for Eli Manning Sunday night?

* Why are most of the objects in our bathroom at work reflective? The tiles act almost like mirrors… it makes me quite uncomfortable at times.

* Is it weird to be suddenly really into ancient history? Will that carry over as the history class progresses towards the present?

* Is a job search worth it? The whole process of finding a new job sucks. The atmosphere and flexibility here is pretty decent. It’s a long freakin’ drive though, and lots of management changes with the recent major merger might make it difficult to get the pay increase that matches the value… but the market isn’t that great really, anyway.

Do I look for a job in a field more geared towards my heart rather than one geared towards financial stability of my family? Following my heart hasn’t always worked out so cleanly…

* At what point does “waiting” become “stagnating”?

I think that about covers it…

… has hit a lot of people in the circle of bloggers that i follow… not everyone, though. Amy is walking us through her Birthday Celebration Week (happy birthday Amy).

But I guess i’m in the group that doesn’t have much to say right now. The holidays were alright. I enjoyed some of it and didn’t enjoy some of it… so that’s that. I DID receive my World Civ book on tuesday and finished up the first assignment about two hours ago… class is in 1.5 hours so I’m set…

Oh, and for some reason I started another blog so i can talk about non-interesting stuff that used to go here but no longer does… it’s called “All The Balls“… so i guess you could say “Jeremy has All The Balls” and it’d be a true statement, people might just look at you funny. In the meantime Jaybrams will remain your primary source of inspiration and updates as far as my family, spiritual, worship, school, etc life goes… If you aren’t sure why I’d start a site which sole purpose revolves around balls, you need to get your head out of the gutter and check out the introduction post here.

Thanks for noticing.

Here’s what I know: I read 73 blogs, all in a reader service. This means I don’t pay attention to your site design unless i want to comment on your site. So, if you still come to this blog the old way (i.e. - without a reader), then you can probably ignore the rest of this… For the rest of you who are in-the-know and use a reader, i’ve changed a few things that i’ll quickly highlight in case you’re curious, as I often am when those in my reader change their design…

I wanted a way to pimp some posts or bloggers, but I really despise Links Sections that are longer than the Mitchell Report… So I only link two sets of people: Personal friends that i’ve known a long time, and my AC 180 partners. There is one exception, cause he’s kinda a psuedo-ac 180 guy in that he and russell are joined at the hip. I tried this pimpage with Fab Fives… which lasted 2 weeks. So now, i’m finally utilizing Google feed sharing. On my side bar, you will now find the most recent posts that I find worthy of sharing. This will update automatically, so it makes it easy for me. Sometimes it’s just a quick post that makes me think, sometimes they are long and challenging theology, or sometimes I just want to give props to a friend. So, stop by and check it out.

I replaced my Prov 27:17  Page (which most of you never had access to anyway) with “The Specifics” which will let you know all the ways you can get a hold of me if you happen to lose my email address *cough*Amy*cough* or want to add me as a friend in myspace or whatever. You can also see our online photo album, which i will be working on this afternoon (right now we just have our canada pics up from 2006).

So, there you go… let me know if you’ve changed anything recently, ’cause it’s likely i haven’t noticed it.

So I’m really tired lately… like exhausted. Monday night I dozed off at 6:30 waiting for my youngest to get ready for bed. No big deal… Last night, while working on my final for HTStB, my eyes were so heavy and my head was spinning from exhaustion so much that it seemed as if I was going to pass out. I *needed* to write most of my seven-page paper… all I made it through was a hand written outline. At approximately 7:23 PM, i sat my notebook down on the coffee table and zonked out on the couch.Other than the dog licking me in the face, i slept through pretty much everything the rest of the night… The wife and oldest squid playing the very loud Mall Madness didn’t even phase me… I vaguely remember waking up once to turn over while Dionna played Oblivion, and remember crawling into bed at around 11 ish…

Nothing else is bothering me. No headaches, no achy muscles, no flu symptoms… but here I am after sleeping for 10 hours last night and the tiredness is starting to set in again… i’ve got a final due tomorrow that still hasn’t stressed me too much… most of it has already been written through various other assignments throughout the class, but it’s still 6-7 pages that I have to write / edit / compile tonight in order to prepare for the oral presentation tomorrow night… so if i make it through tonight and tomorrow, i’ll give this exhaustion thing through the weekend… if my body doesn’t pick itself back up, perhaps i’ll visit the doctor…

in other news, there was no text-fessional this week because we turned sunday into a game night. We also announced the hiring of a new youth pastor… like a full time one… finally… and it’s not me… thankfully… so that is good because the group really needs vision and direction, something I believe this guy will bring.

In other news, our high school ministry’s bass player’s mom took a new job at a different church. It was good worshipping with him, but those days are now over. I am trying to convince dionna to pick it back up and play with us. I think it’s working. Did you know she played? I taught her on a monday and on tuesday she was playing with the worship team. As the weeks went on, i was able to teach her how to do some cool stuff… so now, since *her* bass is busted, i just need to find someone to borrow a bass from (we’d love to buy her a new one, but just can’t right now…).

In other news, my daughters are still freakin’ awesome.

Everytime I ask you for help, I am asking you for money. So far, i have sadly been let down. … However, that is to be expected because basically I was asking you to support my sports habits.

This time, though I will not ask you for money. I have winter break coming very soon. This is my last week of Comp II, and I have less than a month left in the very Sunday School named-but great content class “How To Study The Bible.” I want to use the month I have off to read something other than school related stuff, but I cannot bring myself to purchase non-school related books… so, please be so kind to Christmas gift me with any off of my amazon wish list (click to the right of this post). Here are some highlights:

Jim Palmer’s stuff is piquing my interests. I dont like that he’s compared to Donald Miller, cause i can’t get into miller. But I like the excerpts on his site. He’s also said to be “emergent” which has all sorts of connotations that may or may not turn you off… but i try not to get into labels. I just want good, thought out thoughts on Christ. All I know is i like what he has to say on his blog and want to read more from either of his books.

Dave Burchett has a great blog and two books that are on a subject that I’ve been thoughtful of lately: the wounded church. Infact, both Dave’s and Jim’s books deal with this to a degree. And he’s in my area so maybe one day i can run into him and say ‘hey i read your book’ and then he can say ‘oh you’re one of the two!’ we can exchange chortles and hug or something.

Mark Batterson is a pastor and this book has received rave reviews on amazon and from my personal friends. And yah, i read his blog too… I’ve had my eye on this one for a long time, but just haven’t bought any books in forever. Maybe it will motivate me to get off my butt and do something for Christ.

Those are at the top of my list now, more out of curiosity than anything. Perhaps Dungy’s, Driscoll’s, or Stanley’s stuff is more practical, but i’ll take any of it…

Don’t let me down. The address at amazon.com is correct. One day i’ll be in position to hook you up, and I certainly will… just ask blake.

This is the shortest textfessional ever:

Deliver Me - Crowder - C#m
Give Us Clean Hands - Hall - G
Short set, both extended vamps. Various reasons.

and now… some such:

We watched Karate Kid on DVD with the eldest (turns 8 in 11 days)… that was before the PG-13 ratings… and dang, that movie cusses a lot for a PG family movie. But its cool, cause it was one of my favorite movies growing up and i turned out okay, damn it (I still practice the Crane Kick whenever I can).

We got said DVD from library since we cancelled our blockbuster online account… Dude, they have a bunch of freakin movies at the library, unfortunately the newest are about 2 years old, but there are plenty that we haven’t seen or want to see again… all fo’ free…

I wish they’d rename my current class “How To Study The Bible” to something that sounds like i’m going to college rather than a private Christian high school… but dang, i’m enjoying the class work so far…

Now, i know most of you didn’t care about most of that, but I’ve been in a bit of a blog/posting funk so i wanted to get that stuff off my chest…

g’day

Half of you guys are worship leaders… and most of what I’ve heard from you is better than any thing i’ve done… but … i did it anyway. Pretty much for friends and family…

3 Songs by Jaybrams
The Splendor
Breathe You In
Lead Me Home

They’re not done with a great recording quality… i could get all techie on why, but basically I dont have the greatest interface / hardware. It gets the job done. I’ve got a handful more to come, a few of which are better than anything that is currently up. Click on “lyrics” on the player to read short snippets concerning the particular song.

p.s. - if you’ve got a Virb, befriend me.
p.p.s. - I like virb, but sometimes the stuff doesn’t load well. Just hold Shift and click refresh. That forces it to reload all the code and not use your cache… that seems to help… or click the “open player in new window” link.. that sometimes helps too… or just get annoyed with me and say “I DONT HAVE TIME FOR THIS YOU IMBECLE!” and throw things at me.

Just when you think things are going pretty well and you’ve done a decent job of being a witness through your lifestyle, some narcissistic, self-righteous, ignorant [arse] comes along and makes you cuss him out…

For the record, two of my classes are complete. I will not reveal my grades but my GPA rhymes with “floor-point-oh.” But I haven’t had any “Bible” based classes yet, so we will see how this goes.

VERY IMPORTANT: If any of you care about me (and I hope you do) you need to listen carefully. I cannot pass any of my classes without books! What a novel thing! So, hook a brother up and click the button below. If I don’t have an pending school books, don’t let that rob you of your blessing! Simply buy something off one of my other lists or give me a gift card… see that’s how it works. Trust me.

My Amazon.com Wish List

Thank you in advance for your cooperation. There is no shame in my game.

P.S. - I’m not sure I believe half of the stuff in my next essay (to be posted today), but it landed me a nice grade. I think I believe it in theory but not in practice.
